1. The festival takes place every year and it is part contest,
part review. Participation is open to everyone.
The competitions will include different categories:
IC - INDEPENDENT
CATEGORY for independent producers (amateur film makers,
independent producer).
PC - PRO CATEGORY for professional productions
( films without time limit )
2. Deadline for
registration (for contest participants) is November, 5th.
3. Deadline for dispatch is 10th November.
Materials received
after 15th November will not be taken under consideration.
4. Registration forms must be sent by mail ( or e-mail ) to the
following address:

send film by ordinary or air mail , with label " NO COMMERCIAL
VALUE "
5. The Organization Board undertakes to take great care of materials
but can in no way be held responsible for loss or damage of materials
during the Festival or in the mailing process. Participants should
therefore take out insurance if they feel it is necessary.
6. Only the works chosen by preselection jury will be presented.
Its decisions will be final.
7. Official languages of the Festival are Serbian, English and
French. For works presented in any other language, the author
must provide a typed script of the work in English or French,
on paper, diskette or via e-mail.
It would be very
useful for translators if you send us script ( narration, if there any
) by e-mail.
8. Competition submission format must be one of the following: video BETA
SP (PAL), DV Cam, mini DV (PAL) , HDV
ONLY if
it is an hardship to enter those formats, you may subit film on
DVD.
Similarly,
we will accept NTSC if it is a hardship to submit PAL format.
Every contestant can show one or more films.
The film length is not limited.
Minimum of underwater shots: 30%.
To enter the competition for one of the awards film must be made in year
2010. or 2011.
Competition admission is free.
Main award categories:
- Award for best film of the Festival; first, second and third
place in (national and international) in categories:
- IC - INDEPENDENT CATEGORY for independent producers
(amateur film makers,independent
producer).
- PC - PRO CATEGORY for professional productions
( films without time limit )
- Award for best national film of the Festival (Serbia and Montenegro
production)
- Award for best camera
- Audience Film Award, and some special awards.
9. Films should be accompanied by a synopsis, and if possible
a photo of the author and of filming.
10. Films, their copies to be exact, will stay in festival archive.
Hereby we would
like to inform you that “International Underwater Film Festival
in Belgrade” has started, since its sixth year, to archive all
films presented during the Festival in the Museum of Yugoslav
Archive.
By the decision
of the Organization Board of the Festival all films will be permanently
archived in Museum without rights for show cast or any other usage
in accordance to the Law on Authors rights.
We use this opportunity
to ask for your permission for archiving the films. If you do
not accept these, above suggested, conditions please send us a
request for return of the film and your tape/s will be sent to
you as soon as possible.
11. Competitors
agree to the use of their works by the Festival during non-profit-making
promotional campaigns for sub-aqua activities. At each use of
the works the name of the author will be mentioned but no payment
for use of the copyright or retribution of any kind will be possible.
No commercial use of the movies will be made by the organizers
of the Festival.
All individuals wishing to purchase one of the works will be put
in contact with the producers and/or authors.
By turning in their works, competitors guarantee to the Festival
the right to use them (photographs and video footage), no longer
than 2 years, for the purposes of promoting this contest, on printed
materials, slide presentations, in video and Web page formats
and for non-profit, educational purposes. Competitor holds all
copyrights and every acknowledgement will be given to the author.
12. The Organizing Committee will consider that, according to
law, all works presented are free and clear copyright and the
exclusive property of the authors. By their participation in the
Festival, the authors undertake to guarantee the organizers against
any claims that might be made against them. The Festival organizers
may in no way whatsoever be held responsible in cases of dispute
or litigation.
13. The decisions of the jury are final. Participation in a contest
entails acceptance of the above regulations.
